Why Oak Acoustics slat walls and ceilings?
A quieter room in a modern design with cozy acoustics without echo
Oak Acoustics slat wall panels reduce noise and unwanted echo with reverberation so common in modern interiors. The wooden slats serve as a sound diffuser and the acoustic PET panel as a sound absorber. Their combination resulted in a functional lamellar acoustic panel that will make your space cozy and soundproof.

An unwanted feature of many modern interiors is increased noise caused by echo and reverberation
The current design of modern spaces is characterized by a high proportion of hard, smooth surfaces of floors, furniture, and walls, from which sound waves are reflected without attenuation. This causes an audible echo and excess noise. The reverberation of the sound of such a room when talking, watching a movie or listening to music is distracting and causes stress in the long term.
That is why interior acoustics are no less important than its design for the quality of living or work.
Using the principle of sound absorption and diffusion, we can significantly improve interior acoustics. Oak Acoustics slat wall panels combine both principles.

Learn how sound is reflected indoors
At a sound speed of 340m/s, in an ordinary room, the sound is reflected several dozen times before it becomes inaudibly weakened. The larger the space with hard large surfaces, the stronger the effect. We already hear a delay of hundredths of a second as unwanted reverberation and it has a significantly disturbing effect.
Examples of rooms with different acoustics:
1. A room without sound absorption and diffusion
The design of this interior can be amazing, the feeling of a long stay due to the disturbing effect of sound "echo" and noise is not so much anymore
Hard, smooth surfaces of walls and objects cause a lot of sound reflections, which we cannot see but hear as reverberations. It worsens the quality of communication or the experience of movies or music.
2. A room with the installation of an Oak Acoustics slat wall
The interior design is complemented by modern wooden slats with the function of absorbing and diffusing sound without disturbing reverberations.
Significant reduction of the undesirable effect of reverberation. The absorption capacity of the acoustic lamella panels absorbs the reflected sound and the "echo" is significantly limited or non-existent. The sound insulation function is an extra benefit
A room where only one wall is acoustic
...
.
A room where all the walls are acoustic
The absorption capacity of the acoustic slat wall panel absorbs and disperses the reflected sound. The echo is significantly reduced and the space significantly quieter. The soundproofing function between rooms is an added value
We manufacture oak wooden slats for walls and ceilings to measure in 1000+ variants
The natural oak on the surface provides endless possibilities for wooden lamella design in its shade and texture

60 models of the basic collection and another 1000+ models identical to our hardwood oak floorings
We create the basic collection by combining 10 shades of oak, 3 types of wooden slats and 2 shades of acoustic PET felt.
We produce slatted walls in the same design as the oak floor
Oak Acoustics slat wall panel material
consists of a sound-absorbing ecological PET acoustic panel and oak wood slats with a sound diffusion function
ABSORBER and DIFFUSER in one product:
DIFFUSER - oak wooden slats
The oak slats are functionally arranged with gaps so that they "break" the sound waves and thus weaken the reverberation of the sound in the room.
ABSORBER - black or gray sound-absorbing PET felt
Ecological material produced by recycling PET bottles. Strong, flexible panel with high sound absorption capacity in different shades
Oak Acoustics slat wall panels designed and manufactured in Slovakia (EU)
MANUFACTURED DIMENSIONS: panel 61 x 244cm, or 278cm, or custom length
Total panel thickness 22mm
- 9mm PET acoustic absorption panel
- 13 mm thick oak lamella with MDF core
Possible variants of slats in the panel:
Oak wooden slats XL width 30mm
Oak wooden slats L width 18mm
Oak wooden slats 3D are a mix of three widths and two thicknesses of slats
Gaps between slats 14mm
INSTALATION of OakAcoustics lamella panels
Easy installation is one of the main advantages of the OakAcoustics lamella wall system. The ready-made large-sized panel with mounted wooden slats represents a lot of time saved and allows easy installation according to the design requirements and the level of acoustics achieved.
The method of installation affects the achieved level of room acoustics and sound insulation. If you want a studio level, choose a wooden grate filled with Rockwool, and if the panels are only behind the TV, choose the EASY system.
OVERVIEW OF INSTALLATION OPTIONS:
I. EASY 1-2-3 INSTALLATION for significant improvement of acoustics and addition of contemporary slat wall design into the interior
Method suitable for walls (not ceilings) and installations that does not cover the entire wall and where no panels are mounted above each other. Ideal e.g. behind the TV
- hanging on our suspension system is easy and quick
II. WALL-MOUNTED INSTALLATION to significantly improve the acoustics of the space, improve sound insulation from the adjacent space and addition of a modern slat wall design into the interior with complete coverage of surfaces and details
1. Gluing directly to the wall
2. Screwing directly into the wall or plasterboard via acoustic felt
IlI. INSTALLATION ON A PREPARED WOODEN GRID for maximum improvement of acoustics up to studio quality, maximum insulation from adjacent spaces and addition of a modern slat wall design into the interior.
1. screwing into the underlying battens with air gap
2. screwing into the underlying battens with gaps filled with mineral wool e.g. Rockwool
If you are looking to achieve the Class A sound absorption choose screwing into the underlying battens with gaps filled with mineral wool e.g. Rockwool
INSTALLATION of Oak Acoustics slat wall panels
Easy installation is one of the main advantages of the Oak Acoustics slat wall panel system.
The pre-assembled large-sized panel with mounted wooden slats represents a lot of time saved, allows for easy assembly, which you can choose according to the requirements for the level of acoustics.
I. MOUNTING DIRECTLY ON THE WALL
Significant improvement of room acoustics, isolation from neighboring rooms with modern lamella design
Glueling directly to the wall
Screwing directly into walls or plasterboard through acoustic felt
II. MOUNTING ON A WOODEN BATTENS for maximum acoustic improvement up to studio quality.
Increased insulation from neighboring spaces with a modern slatted design
Screwing into the battens with an air gap
Screwing into the battens with gaps filled with mineral wool, e.g. Rockwool
III. Mounting on suspension rails
Method suitable for walls (not ceilings) and installations that does not cover the entire wall and where no panels are mounted above each other. Ideal e.g. behind the TV
